Outdoor fun

It's been gorgeous weather here in the evenings lately, so last week we decided to finally finish putting together our bench for our front porch. Gabi loves being outside, but it's sometimes too hot during the daytime already. Plus, she still thinks that "interesting" things she finds on the ground need a taste-test. Yucky!

We gave her a screwdriver to hold (without the tip inside) so she could pretend to help Nick finish the bench.

Gabrielle didn't want to leave the sidewalk area too badly, so I carried her out into the middle of our grass, and she didn't like it very much. Granted, it probably felt wierd on her bare feet, but I didn't think she would get upset by it. The picture above is her "scooting" backwards to try to find some sidewalk again. And, as you can tell from the picture below, she found the cement that encircles our trees. She wasn't about to let go of that screwdriver either!

We had a great time outside, and hopefully we'll be able to get out more often so that Gabrielle can learn to not put leaves and dirt in her mouth. Of course, I will probably be one of those moms who say, "A little dirt won't hurt"...builds up immunity, right? :)
