So much fun in Wichita

Sunday
It was gorgeous weather while we were in Wichita (June 27-July 3). On Sunday evening we got together with the Erdmans and the Andersons for a little kid-swimming and some pizza. We had a great time catching up and watching the kids splash around. Unfortunately, some how I didn't get any pictures with Grayson in them...sorry Julie!

Just the girls--Gabi, Elyse, and Delaney havin' some fun.

My precious daughter smiling for the camera! :)

Monday
We went to lunch with Nick's mom, Debbie, Nick's half-sister, Stacey, and her husband, Terry at Red Lobster (yummy).

Walking out to see Stacey's new car...adorable!

Monday night we got together with the old "Focus 20" crew at the McDaniels' home in Valley Center...thanks again for hosting a get-together while we were in town. It's always great to see everyone! And, we got to meet Steve Davis' girlfriend (dating since January) who seems to be a great catch. Keep us updated, Steve! :)

Ellen and Gabrielle playing with an old-fashioned typewriter. Ellen is Joel and Amy Schaefer's youngest daughter, and they are expecting #3 in mid-September...a boy this time around!

Tanya Ayotte getting a little girl-time in with Gabrielle.

Gabi playing with Jonathan Ayotte before he leaves for the evening (Tanya's youngest son). What a cutie!

Tuesday
For lunch Gabrielle and I headed out to Cheney to see some of my old co-workers. It was great to see so many people at D'Marios as well as some of their kids. Oh, how time flies, and they grow so much in between visits too! Sorry that I didn't take any pictures while I was there. I will do better next time.

For supper we headed to Nick's Dad and Judy's house for a BBQ. The food was great and we enjoyed seeing everyone, as well as having the older kids want to play with Gabrielle. Braden, the cousin just older than Gabi, announced that he was taller than her. I really just think that he meant that he wasn't the shortest of the crew anymore!

Cousin Karis pulling Gabi in the wagon around the backyard.

Gabi fully enjoying the "princess" part of the rides.

Gabrielle with Grandpa and Grandma Walker after supper.

Getting a little batting practice in early.

"Am I up to bat yet?"

Wednesday

Today we got together with Darin Carlisle for lunch at Spangles...yes, that was Nick's choice. Renee Stevens was even in the back working. She doesn't look as cheesy in person as she does in her commercials. Amazing!

Gabi working on an ice cream cone.

After a while she actually gave the cone back to me, which was totally surprising because she has never refused ice cream in the past. I took one look at her white mustache, and noticed that her upper lip was red. I think that she froze herself out of wanting any more ice cream. I guess we have to teach her to take breaks in between licks. This is by the way, one of Nick's new favorite pictures!

Darin and Gabi posing for a picture before he heads back to Kansas City. Thanks for coming down to Wichita, even if it was just for lunch this time!

It rained in the afternoon, but that didn't deter us from trying to get Gabrielle into Grandma's new pool she bought for her. She wasn't too interested in it, but it was entertaining watching her get in and out so many times.

Moving on to try out the bubble wand that Grandma got us.

Sunday

Fast forward past our time in Nebraska, and we came back through Wichita to stay the night before we took off on our 10-hour trip back home on Monday. We got together with the Schaefer family one more time, and ate at Red Robin.

Gabi was sooo hungry that obviously the sour taste of a lemon didn't even bother her!

Waking up on Monday morning and saying our goodbyes to the Schaefers. Thanks for letting us play your Guitar Hero and crash in your guest room. I can't wait until the girls are a little older and can really play together. I'm sure they'll all grow up to be princesses too quickly!

Thanks for sending the cute pictures! And what a great post! I'm sooooo far behind. I don't know when I will ever catch up. Sorry to hear that you are sick! I'll be praying that you are up around soon! I know how hard it is to feel sick and keep up with a little one. Hang in there!
