Gingerbread creation

I never got to make a gingerbread house when I was growing up, so I thought it would be a nice tradition that I could start with Gabrielle this year.

Starting to assemble our house. I think next year we are going to decorate it first, and then put it together...I didn't even think of that until I was looking at someone else's pictures. I learned my lesson when I was trying to "frost" the roof and it kept sliding all over the place.

Getting the roof in place.

Gabrielle checking my work. I was sooo proud to hear her say, "Great job, mommy!" from time to time while we were working on it. What a reward it was to hear a 2-year old use the manners that you've been instilling in her!

The finished product...I wish that I had cut a smaller hole in the icing bag so that I could have done more "piping" on the windows and doors. Oh well, another lesson learned for next year, I guess!

This is a great tradition. I can't decide if I want to start it with Frankie this year (2yr) or next year (3yrs).
