So, the day after Christmas we took our chances on the roads, that according to the official Kansas roads website were supposed to icy and snow-packed. The roads were seriously fine until we got to the 2 1/2 miles of gravel road to get to my parents' farm (which incidentally my dad cleared off with one of his tractors before we got there that morning).
This is what we turned off the highway to see...winter beauty.
Driving past my parents' church...notice that the ditches were filled with snow. Again, I think it's beautiful!
This picture doesn't really do justice to how much snow was drifted up on the sides of the road. I was sooooo excited to be at "home" in the snow!
The front of my parents' house. The tree was iced over, and the snow just made it look a white wonderland. Of course, there was so much snow we couldn't get in the front door. LOL
